This tea factory was built by Sir Thomas Lipton in the year 1890. Visitors are welcome for a tour against some fees. They will show you all the works and machines from drying to rolling, hackling, sieving and grading. The fabric is 9 km east from Haputale on the Dambatenne road. Close by is he highest mountain in this area - the Lipton Seat (1950 m) and directly above the fabric the Samimale Rock temple.
